SoundQ - Party Machine

A wild take on tech house, SoundQ gets the celebration started on the aptly named “Party Machine”. Sounds have a plastic, futuristic sheen to them. Nods to groups like the cartoon-oriented Mouse on Mars alongside the playful Mr. Oizo, there is a joy to be found here. The vocals help to truly sell it for there is an inviting presence about it. Everything here gets stretched out like it was all rubber. Beats bounce and blast off each other with the melodic richness embedded within the rhythm itself. Quite a dense mix at times, they let the sounds fold into each other until it becomes impossible to parse apart the overall sound.

Nor do they waste even a moment for right from the first blast the four to the floor dancehall fervor hits the stage. This is the sort of thing that honestly belongs in every club mix, a hyperactive yet happy song that has a heartfelt energy about it. Vocals here work as yet another layer into the already beguiling mix. Heavily treated, the vocals even sound a little bit artificial for there is a childlike sense of wonder that they radiate. Warmth radiates throughout it for there is nothing but good vibes to be found, from the beginning all the way until the end. Even the evolution of the sound further adds to this acidic, gleeful tenor.

“Party Machine” features the intrepid work of SoundQ in crafting a decadent, delirious sound that does feel truly of their own distinct style.
