“All I Am” features the impeccable poetry of Scott & Maria as they tap into a truly timeless sound.

Scott & Maria - All I Am

Scott & Maria go for a pastoral folk ethos on the soothing spirit of “All I Am”. With a sound similar to Bon Iver’s quiet celebrations, the way that the piece unfurls adds to its gracious hue. Never overwhelmed they keep things simple, straightforward and to the point. Hooks reign supreme for there is a catchiness to the whole thing. It is a multi-faceted, multi-layered sound but it always retains a certain airiness. Perhaps it is the way that they let their verses unfurl or simply the sound of their voices, but there is a rather charming way that they bring the entire thing together.

The percussion has a naturalistic hue to it, nicely tactile and with a warm welcoming presence to it all. Every single element falls into place with such precision, yet manages to feel ever so spacious. With love for their surroundings there is a sense of self that appears throughout the whole of the track one that stuns with its serene sincerity. Quiet guitar adds to the contemplative ode that takes shape over the course of the piece one that has such hushed reverence. Vocals here feel so effortlessly peaceful for the verses merge into the careful delicate rhythms. Little flourishes further add to the inherent soulful that the sound provides, one that blooms forth like a flower after a winter thaw, tender to behold.
