Chintzy Stetson - Fair Share

Chintzy Stetson speaks to the downtrodden on the modern day Robinhood anthem of “Fair Share”. The keyboards glow, the jazzy inflection of the drumming gives it a timelessness, and the saxophone is a particularly fine touch. All of this works in serves of his sharp, cutting lyricism, that focuses on the divide between the haves and the have-nots. By going for a unique arrangement, a blend of the classic and modern, he delves into some deeply held truths, the kind of things that linger on in the mind long after the track has ended. His voice itself proves to be an uncanny instrument, as it expresses a great deal of anguish for those who cannot speak for themselves, who do not have any platform.

An absolute swell of sound introduces the piece as the song starts off with an infectious groove. Even as he builds the sound on out, he ensures that this initial spark is never lost. Quite powerful in how it displays itself there is a lushness that factors into the mix, ensuring that it all has a potent muscular quality to it. Bass weaves its way through too in a subtle and sophisticated way, making sure that there is a bit of tenderness to it all. For the finale they let it all get a little loose as the piece raises on up seemingly into the sky.

“Fair Share” features a blissful wash of color, as Chintzy Stetson holds nothing back for a message that feels particularly poignant for this very moment, capturing the zeitgeist with ease.
