Noah Gray - cut you off

Noah Gray taps into what it makes to break off a relationship on the powerful “cut you off”. Production has a polished perfection to it for there is a neon-hued, glossy glow to it. The beats punctuate the power of her verses. Right in the very core of the sound is her voice, which has a classic yet contemporary quality to it. A mixture of a Taylor Swift and Charli XCX’s vocalist style. Lyrically there is a thoughtful quality behind it, for he chooses his words with such care. Rhythms here have an infectious quality to them. With a clear ear for melody, the song unfurls at its own pace, taking its time to build up the atmosphere.

The sound quite literally bubbles up. Layering the bass underneath that is quite clever, and letting the beats have a pulse-like tempo to them further adds to the intimacy. When things finally burst forth in a fantastic display of colour has a grandeur about it. An ebb and flow of the work adds to the living, breathing quality of the work. He balances these many elements together resulting in something that simply stuns. Quite fantastic with the veering back and forth in terms of the music itself accurately reflects the thoughts that go on in the mind, as to whether or not to remove something from their life when they get a bit too toxic, giving it a realness.

“cut you off” features the uncanny ability for Noah Gray to sculpt their own unique universe.
