Olympia Papageorgiou - No Titles

Olympia Papageorgiou delivers a wild, weird, and wonderful take on pop with the playful “No Titles”. Elements of it incorporate elements of vaporwave, hyperpop, and R&B in a futuristic way. Her voice features prominently within the mix, kept front and center. Pieces of the organic and the digital are brought in equal measure. By maintaining the balance between these two conflicting approaches a tension of sorts emerges out of the work. Within this tension, she explores deep feelings in a way that has a highly respectful cadence to it. Nor is she afraid of messing with the template for she messes with pitch, rhythm, and everything else to constantly defy listener expectations. A sense of the tropical helps to frame much of the work, subtly offering nods to a celebratory spirit behind it.

Gentle guitar plucks played in quick succession opens the song up with flair. From there the rest of the song seems to virtually soar on up into the sky. Melodies are refined further and further with a cyclical approach. Evolution of the groove happens in a naturalistic way. Bass has a physicality to it for it weaves everything together in such majestic hues. Her voice has a mysterious aspect to it, coy with its affect. With maintaining this sense of space there is a bliss about it, one that feels outright gorgeous. So many different elements come together to virtually bloom.

“No Titles” shows off the undeniably creative spirit of Olympia Papageorgiou in crafting her own world.
