Kinga Angelys - Can't Do Christmas Without You

A nice twee pop defines Kinga Angelys’ soulful tenderness of “Can’t Do Christmas Without You”. The lightness of the sound captures the happy energy that happens around that special time of year. With the whole band in swing, she has a giddy disposition over the course of the entire track. By far the highlight comes from those lyrics that nicely touch the very heart. One of the most important things about the holiday is the sense of togetherness that permeates it and she captures this perfectly.

The drums introduce things helping to settle that economic rhythm. Everything here seems to bloom thanks to the sheer power of her voice. Instrumentally vibrant the song grows and builds in a rather warm welcoming way. Upon the inclusion of the horns things really take off. Quite detailed she makes sure to pay attention to her environment at large for it all seems to sprawl into the infinite. Small details matter for she incorporates a soothing little melody into the mix, helping to add to the sense of place that the song brings. By focusing on the spirit of travel the whole of the work has a glorious presence about it. For the finale she pulls out all the stops for the song becomes an ode to have a communal quality within the whole of the work.

“Can’t Do Christmas Without You” features a great deal of lightness, proving Kinga Angelys to be a master of capturing the simple pleasures that come with the holiday.
